Cammalleri and Martin say they worked hard, Hamrlik disagress. The Torch (unfortunately) sides with The Hammer. As much of an albatross as his contract is, Hamrlik has been great for the Habs this season. The Habs might have overpaid for him when the brought him onboard, but he certainly has justified their faith in him with his hardwork. The Hammer has missed 16 games in four seasons of play with the Habs while averaging over 20 minutes of play a night. He’s been a plus player every year save for last season (-2).
Vancouver Sun Q&A with Mike Cammalleri. Cammalleri gets into how he ended up recruiting current Canuck, Jeff Tambellini, to the U of Michigan’s Wolverines:
Ian Walker: I hear you’re the reason Jeff Tambellini played his college hockey with the Wolverines?
Mike Cammalleri: [Laughing] Yeah, I recruited him. He came in on a visit and the coaches stuck him with me and I showed him around and I guess I showed him a good enough time that he decided to sign with us.
IW: What kinds of things go on during recruiting trips?
MC: Nothing I can really talk about here. [Laughing] Anyone whose watched those movies where they bring guys on recruiting visits … Let’s just say he had a good time. [Laughing]
Alright…so it was like He’s Got Game?
14,000 pack Quebec City’s Colisee to see Montreal beat Atlanta. It’s about 5,000 more fans than Atlanta would have drawn had this been a home game for them. And since it’s Quebec during a Federal Election, it became an election issue. That is what I love about Canadian politics. Quebec City’s future arena (or lack thereof) is going to be a touchstone issue for Duceppe.
Parise targets Canadiens game for return. As if the Canadiens needed more help in not beating the Devils. Parise holds a 21 GP 11 G 9 A 20 PTS +11 scoring line against the Canadiens for his career.
